Rough Cut feedback:

Rough cute feedback:

Today in our lesson, every group presented to the class, their rough cuts of their opening sequences. Each group was given a sheet that was used to contribute feedback for each group's opening sequence.

The positives of our groups opening sequence was the following:
  • Managed to achieve acceptable lighting even though it is in black & white, which therefore achieves the genre.
  • The camera and angles were good.
  • The opening sequence, flows and follows well, which therefore makes it more clear to the audience what is going on.
  • The mise-en-scene was creative and appropriate to the genre.
  • The other groups, all agreed that the story line is intriguing.
  • There was good use of match on action which is key with the opening sequence.
Negatives and what to improve on:

  • Add some music to the opening sequence and the titles to the beginning.
  • Make the story a little bit more clear to the audience, this will help their understanding.
  • Try and cut down the intro, as it was a little too long, this will ensure that the audience is not bored.
  • The dialogue was too quiet, therefore try and improve sound, this will help the audience understand what is happening.

Out of the five groups that are in our media class, four of them said that they would like to watch the whole opening sequence to see what else happens and to reveal the rest of the story.
